Sonia Woytack

Sonia Woytack, 82, formerly of Olyphant, died on Monday at Smith Health Care, Mountain Top. Her husband, soul mate and best friend, John J. “Jack” Woytack died on April 1, 2004. They were married for 40 years.  

Born in Olyphant, she moved to Mountain Top four years ago to be near her family. Sonia was the daughter of the late John “Terry” and Lavona Dzwonczyk Smoley.  

A member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant, Sonia was a loving and giving woman who loved spending time with her grandchildren and will be deeply missed. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Smith Health Care for the wonderful care they gave Sonia. 

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Dave Papura of Mountain Top and three grandchildren: Tyler, Brad and Krista. 

Divine Liturgy will be held on Wednesday at 10AM at SS. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 River Street, Olyphant with Fr. Nestor Iwasiw, officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.  

At Sonia’s request, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.
