Patricia A. Markwith, 80, of Blakely, died on Wednesday at The Jewish Home of Eastern PA. Her husband, the late Richard P. Markwith died on January 10, 2007. They were married for 45 years.
Born in Blakely, she was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Genevieve M. Cavanaugh McKeon. A graduate of Blakely High School, Class of 1955, she received her nursing degree from Scranton State School of Nursing in 1958. She was employed by and retired from Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
Patsy was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. She truly loved being a grandma and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by four children: Richard P. Jr., Roswell, Ga.; Paul J. and wife, Michal, Kingston; Robert, Scott Township; and Maureen Pearcy and husband, Paul, South Miami, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Alex, Eric, Griffin, Meg, Trent, Clark and Jake; one great granddaughter, Sophia; one sister, Marion L. Boldan, Omaha, NE; one brother, Thomas P. McKeon and wife, Henrietta B., Blakely; several nieces and nephews including John McKeon and wife, Janine and Kelly Ann Jackson and husband, Craig and their children Kelsey & Keena.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert D. McKeon, Jr. and a sister, Lousie J. McKeon.
Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday in St. Patrick's Church, 200 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant. Msgr. Michael J. Delaney, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Blakely.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.
Friends are asked to go directly to the church on Monday.
