Michael V. Brunetti, 91, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday surrounded by his loving wife and family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Michaeline Stankiewicz. The foundation of the Brunetti family started with the love story of Mike and Mickie.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Canio Brunetti and Lucia Condella. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 1946. A devout Catholic, Michael was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore, their Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus-3rd Degree.
Michael was the founder of Pioneer Distributing established in 1953, which is now run by his two loving sons, Richard and Vincent. He was also a member of Willow Club and Elite Club, both in Dunmore.
In his younger years he enjoyed gardening, making homemade wine, the horses and bowling. His greatest joy was spending summers at Chapman Lake making memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Papa had endless love and patience, especially when it came to instilling family values. He was a true family man. We pray he will always be remembered for his generosity and compassion.
Also surviving are his children, Barbara Urciuolo and husband, Joseph of Scranton, Richard Brunetti and wife, Valerie of Taylor and Vincent Brunetti and wife, Renee of Scranton; grandchildren, Linda and Nicholas Valvano, Christopher and Joclyn Brunetti, Michael and Danielle Urciuolo, Mallory Brunetti, Nicholas Urciuolo, Donna Urciuolo and fiancé, Donald Montini; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Gabriella, Alianna, Lillian and Donovan; a sister, Ann Danalich; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Pat Brunetti and two sisters, Antoinette Fletcher and Marie Pagliari.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sacred Heart Hospice for their care and compassion, especially Dana Dolan.
Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 303 Smith St., Dunmore. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
There will be no public calling hours due to COVID-19.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, 303 Smith St., Dunmore, PA 18512 or Sacred Heart Hospice, 340 Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, PA 18507.
We love you, Papa!
