Mary H. Hartman

November 8, 1955 — March 21, 2001

Mary H. Hartman, 45, of Dickson City, died on Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, after an illness. Daughter of the late Walter and Helen Dovitch Shihinsky, she is survived by her husband Scot.

Born in Dickson City, she was a lifelong resident. A 1973 graduate of MidValley High School, she served with the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal. She worked as a Certified Nurse for 10 years in the Scranton area. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.

She is also survived by one daughter, Nichol, at home; one brother, Walter Shihinsky, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps, and one sister, Carol Shihinsky, Dickson City.

A loving wife and mother, she was an inspiration to them and was dedicated to both her family and her profession.

The funeral will be at 9AM on Monday, from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30AM at St. Mary’s Visitation Church, St. Mary’s Square, Dickson City. The Msgr. Stanley Piorowski, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Christian Wake Services will be held during this time.
