Joseph A. Narbut, 88, of Fell Twp., died on Saturday at Osprey Ridge Nursing Home, Carbondale. Son of the late Marcel and Isabella Michalowski Narbut, he was also preceded in death by his first wife Mary Estock Narbut, and his second wife, Mary Kaminsky Narbut.
Born in Eynon, he resided in Fell Twp. for over 40 years and prior to that lived in Sturges. He was retired from the railroad and was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Simpson and St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Eynon. He was also a beekeeper for the state of Pennsylvania and he loved to hunt.
He is survived by: three sons, Joseph Narbut, Jr. of Bonita Springs, Fl, Eugene Narbut of Harrisburg, NC and Hilary Estock of Manchester, Ct.; one daughter, Maryann McDermott of Milford, Ct.; one sister Bernice Trojanowski of Syosset, Long Island, NY; four brothers, John Narvid of Munster, Indiana, Albert Narvid of Whiting, Indiana, Walter Narvid of Ocala, Fl, and Bernard Narvid of Eynon, Pa.; 7 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Two step-daughters, Ann Marie Rinkers, Fallston, MD and JoAnn Gonzalez, Churchville, MD, one step-son, Stanley J. Kaminsky of Fell Twp., 8 step-grandchildren, 20 step-great grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were: one daughter, Charlotte Narbut; two brothers, Roman Narbut and Edwin Narvid; and a sister Suzanne Narbut.
The funeral will be at 8:45AM on Thursday, from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30AM at St. Mary of Vilna Church, Eynon. The Reverend Hilary L. Malinowski, pastor of St. Michael’s Church, Simpson will preside. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Christian Wake Services will be held during this time.
