Elizabeth Kubilus

Elizabeth Kubilus, 85, of Jessup, died Wednesday at Regional Hospital, Scranton. Her husband, Eugene, passed away in 2000.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., she moved to Dalton when she was three and more recently resided in Jessup. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna Savukas Karp. She was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and a former member of St. John Vianney Parish, Scott Twp.

Elizabeth was a very social person who was always out doing something that she enjoyed. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and also enjoyed playing bingo at the Jessup Senior Housing, playing poker, going to the casino and spending time with the Scott Twp. Housewives.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marty Kubilus of North Abington Twp.; Deborah and Donald Salansky of Scott Twp.; Joe and Debbie Kubilus of West Abington Twp.; Michael and Christine Kubilus of Archbald; Kimberly and Bill Bjork of Scott Twp.; Lisa and Dave Stankiewicz of Olyphant; and Chris and Diane Kubilus of Coatesville; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Karp of Dalton.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Carol Kubilus; and a grandson, Tyler Kubilus.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Delaware Street, Olyphant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Montdale.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home Inc., 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant.
