David H. Russell, Sr., 58, of Northampton, PA was tragically and unexpectedly killed in a work related injury on Tuesday. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. His wife is Rita Harner Russell. He is the son of the late George Russell.
Born in Davenport, Iowa, he resided in Northampton for the last 3 years. Prior to that he was a resident of Carbondale, PA for 4 years and Stow, Ohio for 18 years. He was employed by Todd Heller, Inc., Northampton, for the last 3 years. While serving in the U.S. Navy he was on nuclear powered submarine vessels. In 1972, he received an Environmental Protection Achievement Certificate from President Richard M. Nixon.
He is survived by his mother, Madelyn Wolff Russell, Ocala, FL; 3 daughters: Rhonda Litwin, Charleston, SC, Laurie Adams, Ravenna, Ohio, and Ranae Sharp Santarelli, Jessup, PA; 2 sons: David Russell, Jr. and Mark Russell, both of Akron, Ohio; 2 brothers: John Russell, Summerfield, FL and Paul Russell, Louisville, KY. 10 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral will be on Saturday at 11:30AM from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon.
Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8PM at the funeral home.
