Anita M. Fumanti, 85, of Olyphant, died on Monday night at Allied Services Scranton Hospice Center. She was the wife of Samuel Fumanti who died in 2002.
Born in Peckville, daughter of the late Michael and Ada Palazzari Biondi, Anita was a graduate of Blakely High School. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant and Rolling Angels for the Armed Forces. She was also active in Olyphant Girls Softball, loved camping with her family, playing bingo and the Dallas Cowboys. Anita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who thought the world of her grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters, Cindy Bartlebaugh of Mayfield, Lisa Fumanti Francis and Dina Harrington both of Olyphant and Angel Dougher of Eynon; one son, Samuel Fumanti of Peckville; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gino Biondi.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30AM at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware Avenue, Olyphant, Michael J. Delaney, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to7PM at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.
Friends are asked to go directly to the church on Friday morning.
Memorial contributions may be made to an American Legion or VFW of the donor’s choice or the St. Joseph’s Indian School, 1301 N. Main Street, Chamberlain, SD, 57325.
