John Philip Black

John P. Black, 54, of Archbald, died on Friday at home.  Born in Groton, Conn., he resided in Archbald most of his life. Son of the late John N. and Marie Serafini Black, he attended Valley View Jr./Sr. High School. He was formerly a longtime employee of Beloit Manhattan, Clarks Summit and Valley Carpet Cleaning. Surviving are a son, John J. and wife, Amber, Scranton; a granddaughter, Shayna; a grandson, Shandon; three sisters, Lillian Egley and husband, Chuck, Eynon; Joanne Corby and husband, Brian, Factoryville; and Darlene Zigga, Olyphant; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home Inc., 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale.
