Eleanor Claire Ciccone

Eleanor C. Ciccone, 79, of Scranton, died on Tuesday morning at Green Ridge Heath Care Center,  Scranton.  Her husband, John F., died in 2000.  They were married for 44 years. Born in Scranton, she was a resident of Hamilton Square, NJ since 1962 and moved back to Scranton earlier this year. Daughter of the late Charles and Bridget Kotwasinski August, she attended Scranton area schools.  She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Mercerville, NJ and NARFE, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. A devout Catholic, Eleanor's life revolved around her family and she received much joy in cooking for them.  She is survived by one daughter, Susan B. Bugno and husband, Robert D. of Dalton; three sons:  John F. and wife, Regina of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, Mark A. and wife, Elizabeth of Hamilton Square, NJ and Matthew J. and wife, Loren of Ewing, NJ; and seven grandchildren: Corey Bugno and wife Kristine, Amy Bugno, Nicole, Sara, John, Joseph and Julie Ciccone; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael C., who died in 2003; 3 sisters: Cecelia Kaczmarczyk, Ann Pentasuglio and Dorothy Granza; 4 brothers: Frank, Joseph, Eugene and Henry August. Mass will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church, 3816 East State St. Ext., Mercerville, NJ.  Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton Township, NJ. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8PM at the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant and on Friday from 6 to 8PM at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
