Ann R. Hoffman, a longtime resident of Scranton, died on Thursday at Adams Manor, while there for a brief stay for rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Willard E. Hoffman, who died in 1967.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret Cook McDermott. After graduating from St. Patrick’s High School, Scranton, she worked in the business office at the Wall Street Bank, New York City. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton and attended Telespond Senior Citizen Daycare, Scranton, where she loved doing arts and crafts.
She was a wonderful religious mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was loved by all who knew her. She had a very caring and attentive physician, Dr. Dennis Kondash.
She is survived by two daughters: Ann Marie Kondash, Peckville and Randi Hoffman, Scranton; two sons: John V. Hoffman, Factoryville and Dr. Willard Hoffman, Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Margaurite McLaughlin, Florence McDermott, Mary Hannon and Catherine Sheridan; two brothers, Gerard and John McDermott.
Funeral Services will be at held 8:45AM on Saturday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Avenue, Scranton. Reverend William D. Campbell, pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Viewing will be private and at the convenience of the family.
