Mary B. McCarthy

Mary B. Pawlowski McCarthy, 90, of Olyphant, died on Tuesday afternoon at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl A. Pawlowski and her second husband, Robert McCarthy. Born in Scranton, she was a resident of Olyphant most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Evelyn Jablanski Vincek. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant and loved gardening in her yard and sewing. Her family and friends will dearly miss her. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Clark of Madisonville, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one niece She was preceded in death by her son Carl A. Pawlowski, who died on May 10, 2002, a brother, Stanley Vincek, and two sisters, Alice Ulrich and Lydia Orlowski. The funeral will be held at 9AM on Friday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be at 9:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lincoln Avenue, Olyphant. The Reverend Kenneth Kizis, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8PM at the funeral home. Christian wake services will be held at 6:15PM Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
