William Fedorchak, Jr.

April 30, 1931 — December 1, 2002

William Fedorchak, Jr., 71, of Olyphant, died suddenly on Sunday afternoon, at home. He was the son of the late William, Sr. and Anna Pish Fedorchak. His stepmother was the late Mary Pish Fedorchak. Born in Olyphant, he moved back to his birthplace 4 years ago. He raised his children in S. Plainfield, NJ and later moved to Elizabeth, NJ. He retired from Triangle Tool Co., Union, NJ in the late 1980’s with over 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant First Class. He was a master jumper with the 82nd Airborne Division and received a Silver Star as an accommodation for bravery and 2 Purple Hearts while serving in Korea. He is survived by 5 daughters, Joy Ann Fedorchak, Olyphant, Amy Angel Conforti, Monroe Twp., NJ, Lynn Ann Posyton, Scotch Plains, NJ, June Marie Fedorchak, Olyphant and Jill Mari Fedorchak, Garwood, NJ; 2 brothers, Michael Fedorchak of Bloomington, IN and Walter Schurko, Olyphant; one sister, Anna Chekansky, Olyphant; his former wife, Arlene Sabula Fedorchak, Delray Beach, Florida; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of American Legion Raymond Henry Post #327, Olyphant, VFW Shopa-Davey Post No. 6082, Peckville, Disabled American Veterans Chapter PA #11 and the Italian American Club, Olyphant. He was an avid sports fan following the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, William, III and Carl Fedorchak, a daughter, Gay Cutting and 2 sisters, Helen Nagurney and Marie Fedorchak. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM from Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be at 10AM at Holy Ghost Church, Willow Street, Olyphant. The Reverend Phillip J. Sladicka, pastor, will officiate. Military services will be held by the American Legion Raymond Henry Post #327 at 9:15AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Thursday from 7 to 9PM at the funeral home. Christian Wake Services will be held during this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to: Holy Ghost Church, 126 Willow St., Olyphant, PA, 18447.
