William J. Feduchak

William J. Feduchak, 80, of Blakely, a resident of Allied Medical Center, died Sunday in the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton. He and his wife, the former Irene M. Swenski would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary May 8th. Born in Blakely, son of the late John and Paraska Kolodichik Feduchak, he was a lifelong Blakely resident and a 1940 graduate of Blakely High School and attended St. Thomas Acquinas College, Scranton. He was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City and a former member of it's Holy Name Society. A Navy Veteran of WWII, he received the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was a lifetime member of the Shopa-Davey Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6082, Peckville and a member of it's Governors Club. He was a member of the former Mountain View Rod and Gun Club and an avid bowler who belonged to several leagues. Before his retirement he was employed by the John Heinz Institute, Wilkes-Barre. He previously worked in other capacities for Allied Medical Services for approximately 20 years. He was also employed by Daystrom-Weston, Archbald in the 1960's with more than 10 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Also surviving are two daughters: Linda Ruffini, Bradenton, FL and Gail M. Jakes, Gouldsboro; a son, William G., Blakely; two sisters: Dorothy Baranski, Dickson City and Mary Sadlon, Allentown, NJ; a brother, Leon, Lenox; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Anna Besho and Evelyn Rudick and two brothers, Michael and John. The funeral will be Thursday at 8:45AM from the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant with mass at 9:30AM at St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City to be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas G. Sarnecki, associate pastor. Military Services will be conducted by the VFW Shopa-Davey Post 6082. Interment in parish mausoleum. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 9PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Asso., NE Regional Office, 63 N. Franklin St., WIlkes-Barre, PA, 18701 or the VNA Hospice of Lackawanna Co., 301 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, PA, 18447. 4 and 7 to 9PM at the funeral home.
