Louisa DiPietro

Louisa DiPietro, 93, of Olyphant, died on Monday morning at Hospice Preferred Choice, MidValley Hospital, Peckville.  She would have celebrated her 94th birthday on November 10.  Her husband was the late Rocco, Sr. who died in 1979.Born in Guardia Lombardia, Italy, she was a resident of Olyphant for 75 years.  She was the daughter of the late Carmen and Concordia DiPietro.She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant and loved gardening and crocheting.She is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law, Joseph & Roseanne of Dunmore, Carmen & Marion of Olyphant and Carol of Olyphant.  Also surviving are four grandsons: Carmen, Rocco, Joseph and David; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her son Rocco who died in 1994 and one grandson Joseph, Jr.The funeral will be held at 9AM on Thursday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.  Mass will be at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at the funeral home.  Christian wake services will be held during this time.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, Preferred Choice, In-Patient Unit, 749 Northern Blvd., P.O.
