Francis Paul Borgna

March 18, 1945 — July 8, 2004

Frank Borgna, Sr., of Olyphant, died on Thursday morning at home.   His wife is the former Theresa Littman.  They would have celebrated their 39th anniversary this Saturday, July 10.A lifelong resident of Olyphant, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Kupchick Borgna.  He attended Olyphant High School.He was the owner of Borgna’s Body Shop and Auto Sales, R.D. 1 Olyphant and was elected for a second 4-year term as an Olyphant Borough Councilman.  While serving his first term, he was involved with several committees and was previously on the borough Planning Committee.  Currently he was serving as Council President.He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville and was a member of Elmhurst Country Club.  He enjoyed golfing.He is survived by a son, Frank P., Jr. and a daughter, Tracy M., both of Olyphant; a brother, Edward of Throop; a sister, Donna Palukonis of Olyphant; a granddaughter, Hailey Marie Owens and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a brother John and a sister Margaret Mitchko.Funeral services will be held at 9AM on Monday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.  Mass will be celebrated at 9:30AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow St., Peckville by Rev. Santino J. Fanucci.  Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup.Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home.  Christian wake services will be held during this time.The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Animal Care Association SPCA, 1916 Rosanna Ave., Scranton, PA.
