Nancy Nudelman

February 3, 1924 — August 29, 2005

Nancy Nudelman, 81, of Dickson City, died on Monday at home with her family and friends.  She was the widow of Sam Nudelman, who died October 19, 1968.Born in Carbondale, she resided in Dickson City most of her life.  Her parents were the late Harry A. and Clara Edmunds Greene.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.  A graduate of St. Rose Academy and the Archbald Business School, she attained her registered nursing diploma from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Scranton.She and her husband were proprietors of Nudelman’s Mens’ Clothing Stores of Olyphant and Scranton.  After her husband’s death she continued to work in the men’s clothing field at Louis Rosenthal and Samters clothing stores.  She later returned to her nursing profession and was an operating room nurse at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.Nancy enjoyed life, traveling, playing and watching golf, painting in her later years and casinos.  Her sense of humor and outlook on life made a lasting impression and she opened her heart and home to everyone.  Fondly known as “GG”, Gram and Mom, she loved to share her stories, wit and wisdom with all generations.She is survived by 2 daughters, Meg, Phoenix, AZ and Kim, Dickson City; 3 sons, Alan and wife Margaret, Dickson City, John and wife Leslie, Ellicott City, MD, and Ned and wife Kathleen, Erial, NJ; 7 grandchildren: Becky and Jason, held a special place in Gram’s heart and their mother Gail; grandsons Nathan and wife Brenda, Jared, Sam and Joel; granddaughter Beth Scochin and husband Pete; 3 great grandchildren: Corey, Isabella and Nicole; and uncle, Paul F. Edmunds, who was like a brother to her; nieces, nephews and cousins.The memorial funeral mass will be held at 9:30AM on Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware Avenue, Olyphant.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7PM at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant, PA, 18447.Contributions may be made in her memory to Asera Care Hospice, 749 Northern Blvd., Clarks Summit, PA, 18411 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
