David M Muncie

July 19, 1975 — January 27, 2006

David M. Muncie, 30, died on Friday at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale.  He resided in Mayfield with his wife and soul mate of 12 years, Alita and their son, Devin.Born in Pottsville, he was a resident of Jermyn most of his life.  The son of Rosari Clauss Muncie, Jermyn and Thomas W. Muncie, Scranton, he was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Jermyn and attended Lakeland High School.A carpenter and mason, he was a member of the Carpenters’ Local No. 261.  He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors.He was a devoted, caring and loving father to his son, Devin, who was his pride and joy.  He cherished his family and was a loyal friend.  He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.He is also survived by a sister, Lisa Muncie, Jermyn; a brother, James Muncie, Carbondale; 3 nieces: Sarah, Katelyn and Samantha Muncie; many aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harvey and Mary Clauss and paternal grandparents, James and Sarah Muncie.The funeral will be held at 9AM on Monday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.  Mass will be at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant.  The Reverend Phillip J. Sladicka, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will take place at Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home.  Christian wake services will be held during this time.The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to: Devin Muncie Trust Fund, Myers, Brier & Kelly, LLP, P.O.
