Mary H McCormick

Mary H. McCormick, 91, of Olyphant, died on Sunday at Dunmore Healthcare Center, Dunmore.  Her husband, William F., died in 1985.  They were married for 43 years. Born in Olyphant, she was a lifelong resident.  Her parents were Frank and Anna Misiura Rook (Róg).  She was a graduate of Olyphant High School, a dedicated lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant and a member of the VFW Shopa-Davey Post 6082 Ladies Auxiliary, Peckville. She was formerly employed by Barbizon, Jessup and Bamel Dress, Olyphant. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she loved to bake, work in her vegetable garden and take care of her grandchildren and great granddaughter.  She will be greatly missed. She is survived by 4 daughters: Elizabeth Anne Cicilioni and husband, Kenneth, Peckville; Jacqueline Leigh and husband, James, Wyncote; Patricia Anne McDonnell and husband, Martin “Marty,” Archbald; and Maryanne Watters and husband, Gordon “Rusty,” Olyphant; one son: William F. and wife, Kathleen, Jefferson Twp.; nine grandchildren: Anne & Kenneth Cicilioni, Dawn Marie & Frank Stieler, Megan McCormick, Amanda & T.J. Leigh and Joshua & Zachary Watters; a great granddaughter, Jennavieve Stieler; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers: John, Joseph, Adolph, Michael and Frank Rook and 2 sisters: Genevieve and Helen Rook. The family would like to thank the staff and administration of Dunmore Healthcare Center for their patience and loving care. The funeral will be at 9AM on Thursday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30AM at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant.  Due to weather, interment will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Blakely at a later date. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her memory to Clothe-A-Child and Baby Bundles, 120 Willow St., Olyphant, PA, 18447 or http://www.epartnersingiving.com/maryhmccormick. For directions or on-line condolences, please visitwww.hudak-osheafuneralhome.com.
