John Kappa

John Kappa, 89, of Jessup, died on Monday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife, the former Lucille L. Noelle.  They celebrated their 68th anniversary on December 2nd. Born in Jessup and raised in Olyphant, he resided in Jessup for the last 22 years.  Prior to that he lived in Los Angeles, California for 38 years.  His parents were Michael and Dorothy Brojack Kappa.  He was a graduate of Olyphant High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Shopa-Davey Post 6082, Peckville. He is also survived by two daughters, Susan Kappa, California and Linda Rigney, Colorado; two sons, John, Oregon and Michael, Nevada; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, George and a grandson, John. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. For on-line condolences, please visit www.hudak-osheafuneralhome.com.
