Rose Marie Olfano

Rose Marie Olfano, 87, of Olyphant, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday.  Her husband Charles, died in 1977.  They were married for over 25 years.Born in Peckville, she resided in Olyphant since 1952.  Her parents were the late Catoldo and Frances Atmanavage Giambra.  She was a graduate of Blakely High School and was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.  She was also a member of the Senior Center, Scranton.She was formerly employed by American Tobacco, Scranton and more recently, Preno’s Restaurant, Scranton.Rose always looked forward to her weekly trips going for lunch and playing bingo with her best friend Rose.She is survived by two sons: Charles and wife, Barbara, Olyphant and Ross and wife Judy, Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren: Chuck and wife, Ronda, Wall, NJ and Amy Barbine and husband, Eric, Carbondale; great grandchildren: Charlie, III, Darian, Kelly and Kaitlynne; two sisters: Helen Dalchek and Carmella Gruzeski, both of Peckville; one brother, Joseph Giambra, Peckville; one aunt, Helen Karpovich, Pittston; many nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will be held at 9AM on Thursday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.  Mass will follow at 9:30AM at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant.  Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Blakely.Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 712 South Keyser Avenue, Taylor, PA, 18517.For directions or on-line condolences please visit: www.hudak-osheafuneralhome.com.
