Ellen Cherry

Ellen Cherry, 87, a resident of Manor Care, Bethlehem, and formerly of Olyphant, passed away, Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at Manor Care, Bethlehem.Born Oct. 19, 1925, in Olyphant, Ellen was the daughter of the late Peter and Nellie Dziama Jula.She was a graduate of Olyphant High School, and prior to her retirement, had been employed in the local garment industries.Ellen was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Olyphant.Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Thomas N. Cherry and a brother, Walter “Sonny” Jula.Surviving are her sons, Thomas and his wife Louise, Mountain Top; Douglas and his wife, Shirley, York; daughter, Lisa, Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Christian, Michael, Jessica, and Jacob Cherry.Requiem Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, corner of E. Lackawanna and Gravity Avenue, Olyphant by the Very Rev.
