Marjorie Noone Malloy

Marjorie Noone Malloy, 90, of Scranton, died Sunday morning at her son’s home in Roaring Brook Twp. She was the wife of Joseph R. Malloy, who died in 1973, and the former wife of Robert G. Noone, who died in 1974.Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Haydon and Dorthy Hicks, she resided in Scranton most of her life before moving to Roaring Brook Twp. more than 20 years ago. Marjorie was a graduate of St. Paul’s Grade School and Scranton Central High School.She was employed by Ingersoll Rand, Moosic, as a purchasing agent and previously Magargee Brothers Paper Co., Scranton. Marjorie enjoyed spending her time volunteering with children and daycare and was a great help with her grandchildren and  great-grandchildren. She was formerly involved with Nativity Church functions and loved going to the ocean in Delaware with her family.She is survived by a son, the Rev. James Noone, Roaring Brook Twp.; two granddaughters, Tami Noone Zeller, Western Wayne area; and Carie Delong Price, Alabama; and six great-grandchildren, Angelina, Areanna, Maddyson, Jessie, Colton and Autumn.She was also preceded in death a brother, William; and a sister, Gloria.Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Neumann Parish at Nativity Church, 633 Orchard St., Scranton, to be officated by the Rev. Michael M. Bryant, pastor. Interment will be private in Abington Hills Cemetery at a later date.Friends may call Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant.Friends are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday.For directions or online condolences, visit www.hudak-osheafuneralhome.com.
