Mary E. Cummings, 90, of Olyphant, died Monday night at Fountainview Rehabilitation and Care Center, Lakewood, N.J. Her husband, John J., died in 1978.Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Frank P. and May Barrett Loftus, she was a lifelong resident who recently moved to Bricktown, N.J. She was a graduate of Olyphant High School, Lackawanna Business School and received her Registered Nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Scranton. She spent most of her nursing career at Mid-Valley Hosptial, Peckville. She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.She is survived by two sons, John and wife, Mary, Bricktown, N.J.; and Patrick and wife, Sheila, Bryn Mawr; two daughters, Mary Kay Martynuk and husband, Roman, Belmont, Mass.; and Ann Krause and husband, Charles, Wexford; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Robert Loftus.The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, to be officiated by Monsignor Michael J.
